Written from a cool & cloudy Siem Reap Cambodia
The construction work on the road leading up to my apartment is complete which means no more drilling at 7am and no more off road driving required to get home. Over the past week I’ve gradually gotten used to driving through mud baths and over bridges made of planks above wet concrete, but now there’s just nice smooth concrete. The guys on the job work crazy long hours.
Been listening to “Deep Work” by Cal Newport which describes the benefits of being focused and absorbed in your work. I’ve read it before but this time round it’s taken on a new meaning and seems to be answering several of the questions I’ve had floating round my head lately.
My highly important personal mission to eat my way round every bakery in the city one-cake-at-a-time has lead me to discover coconut and blueberry buns. These babies are 3 mini coconut buns glued together with blueberry jam and have taken 1st place on the official Siem Reap cake tier list.
